After 25 years of hands-on experience in the non-profit sector, one may consider retirement...however Batull cherishes her work as an experienced resource mobilizer and fundraiser as she navigates hurdles using her creative and management skills to achieve results.

Coupled with her professional training in advertising, she has spearheaded multiple fundraisers and events to amplify nonprofit awareness and visibility with a deep understanding of NGO needs as well as donor expectations. Batull plans her fundraisers strategically to appeal to all stakeholders.

She has also conducted art-based workshops as an ICF accredited coach to enable teams to put paint to canvas while visualizing the goals. The pandemic changed her primary focus back towards fundraising. Her modus operandi is unique to each NGO partner to ensure experiential events and activities for memorable fundraisers. Her aim is to help NGOs learn how to develop their own resources towards long-term sustainability and self-reliance.

In the interim she makes time to enjoy travel, bake (a lot!), cherish time with family and friends, watch animated and action movies especially the Avengers(for dreamers) and savour the occasional freshly printed paperback read with its distinctly alluring scent!.

Upala is a social entrepreneur with a varied repertoire of local and international employment experience in Media, Marketing, Charity Fundraising, Event Management and Advertising. She uses her skills in digital marketing to create awareness and raise funds for non-profit organisations through content writing, designing and managing social media pages and fundraising events.

Upala is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and at the same time creating long-term value for an organisation by developing growth opportunities and relationships with other stakeholders. Her experience in working for non-profit organisations has given her the skills to determine how best to navigate the path to implementing strategies right from a start-up to sustainability and use various channels like website content, social media, email marketing to deliver a cohesive marketing message, raise the profile and generate traffic and awareness.

Besides these passions, Upala is a serial volunteer and has always made time to pursue her interests in art, drama, books and travel.
